Pastor

"I shall not want," Psalm 23:1.

I'm in need of nothing. Nothing I yearn for. How so? Because the Lord is my pastor. Yes! I trust him. My life calms in his mercies. He gives quiet rest. His gentle paths guide to refreshment. I see his ways draw out the best from my soul. Jehovah God is my pastor. Therefore: I will fear no evil. The Lord is my shepherd. Therefore: Goodness and mercy shall follow me. Jehovah God is my shepherd. Therefore: I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

We dine with a brother or sister today at our God's bountiful table. And, together, we give thanks that he bears us out of death's shadow into the light of his presence.
