Revelation

"May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation," Ephesians 1:17.

Wisdom. Revelation. Knowledge of God. Enlightened hearts. Hope. Riches. Inheritance. Immeasurable power. Power to resurrect the dead. Mighty strength to raise up into the skies. And toward what is all this? Us. Toward us who believe. God raised Jesus above all rule. Above. All authority. All power. All dominion. Every name. Far above. All in this world. All in the next world. Jesus. Above all. God placed every thing under Jesus's feet. God made Jesus head over every thing. To what end? To the congregation. What congregation? To the assembly that believes in him. The congregation that defines his own body's fully full fullness.

We meet with a brother or sister today stunned by God's revelation. And, together, we bring praise and thanksgiving to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prove

"You were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit," Ephesians 1:13.

You? You who? You who heard the Good News. (What Good News? The Good News of salvation in Jesus!) More specifically: You who believed in Christ. When did you get the Spirit's seal? When you heard the true word, and, more to the point, when you trusted in Christ to save. That's when. OK. So what's that prove? It's the guarantee. The Spirit is God's guarantee. Guarantee of what? Guarantee that the inheritance God promised will become your possession. Your possession. In God's time. To God's glory.

When we visit with a brother or sister today in our present troubles, we share in confident assurance of the Holy Spirit. And, heirs together of his promises, we praise God.

Destiny

"We were predestined according to God's purpose," Ephesians 1:11.

God foreordained. God planned beforehand. What did God predestine? That anything ever worth happening throughout time and creation, that all things would happen in Christ. In Him. So. God's chosen people, God's elect, would be those people who first hoped. In Christ. Ah! And, too, God's chosen would also be those people who heard the gospel and believed. In Christ. Was this a spur of the moment decision? Oh, No! Not at all! God established this destiny on his forever plan. His work plan. To work what? All things. To work according to his purpose. What purpose? The purpose of God's own will. To accomplish what he wanted to do. In Christ.

We visit today with a brother or sister, elect in Christ, having freely believed in him. And, together, we live for the praise of God's glory.

Goodness

"God planned that all things in heaven and on earth be joined together in Christ as the head," Ephesians 1:10.

So when did God plan this? Oh, goodness! Remember? from before the start of the world. Yeah, his wisdom, his insight, Yes!, the big secret that nobody, but nobody, ever had guessed beforehand. God planned from forever ago to lavish his rich grace on us through his deeply loved son, Jesus. Yes. And he let us in on this secret right in keeping with his purposes. Oh, yeah! Exactly in the detailed timing of his perfect will. Amazing! Grace!

We gather with a brother or sister today reminding each other of God's overabundantly generous heart. And, together, we give thanks to him for uniting us all in Christ.

Misrepresenting

"Not even Christ has been raised," 1 Corinthians 15:13. True. Well, true if there is no resurrection of dead people. If the dead a...
