"He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out," John 10:3.
The shepherd knows his sheep. By name. The sheep follow him because. Because! Because they know his voice. So, his sheep do not follow another voice. Jesus knows each name of each of his followers. Jesus' followers recognize his words of life against anyone else's strange words of thievery and death. Jesus opens the outbound doorway to bounty and the inbound gate to security. That's how people thrive when they give themselves first to Jesus, who first came to give himself to them. Indeed. His own listen only to him. Word of life.
We visit with a brother or sister today hearing Jesus' call. And, together, we give thanks to God for shepherding us in Christ to heaven.
