"The man was persecuting us then, but now runs with the good news of the faith he was destroying," Galatians 1:23.
That's what happens when God spotlights a sinner man's dead works. When God reveals his son, Jesus, people knotted up in their own self-justification's impotence get unleashed to life and to proclaim grace in all the land. That's Paul's testimony. Then filled with bitter rage, now overwhelmed by God's righteous grace. Then wallowing in death's burrow, now shouting out life's reality. Then darkened in self-deception, now radiating the light of God's glory in the face of Christ.
When we see a brother or sister today, we affirm the faith of Christ shining through. And, together, we speak thanksgivings to God for his son's stunning generosity of life, eternal.
