"God had preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham," Galatians 3:8.
Really? Yes. God pre-evangelized to Abraham. Hmm. Did God tell Abraham about Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection 2000 years before Jesus came? No. Not quite. The Good Book says this about that: God told Abraham that all the ethnics would be blessed in him. Justified by faith. That's the Good News God revealed to Abraham. And Abraham believed God. And anyone who believes in God like Abraham did, becomes a child of Abraham, reckoned righteous by God. Justified. Gospel truth. Good News!
We share with a brother or sister today in faith that Christ gave himself for us. And, together, we praise God that he counts us as the blessed children of Abraham (and of Sarah)!
