Unnatural

"You were formerly enslaved to unnatural gods," Galatians 4:8.

Once upon a time, we were slaves to things that by their nature are not deity. Well, yeah, sure, we considered these things divine, but they weren't. We created these things in our own images and called them gods. We gave them a thousand names. And bowed to them. And we became their slaves. Once upon a time. But now, in Christ (God's son), we have come to know the One and Only God whose very nature is complete God-ness. Or, better: we have come to be known by the One and Only God. God knows us. The One and Only real God has adopted us. He knows us as his kids, heirs of his sky kingdom.

We visit with a brother or sister today, joyful in the knowledge of our true God's love. And, together, we give thanks to him that he frees us to be what he created us to be in his image.
