"He drew back fearing the circumcision party," Galatians 2:12.
Drew back from what? From mixing with people who believed in Christ, baptized into him, sure, but who weren't part of the right group. Yep. He cut himself loose from those believers in the wrong group. Drew the boundary wall between. (He, who? Peter, apostle of Christ.) No more pot lucks with those folks. Why? Because he was afraid. Of whom? Of the people in the right group. That these'd draw another wall between and cut him loose, outside. In this, Peter (and company) cut himself loose from walking right in the truth of Jesus' Good News.
We visit with a brother or sister today walking rightly in the truth of Jesus' gospel. And, together, we receive food with glad and generous hearts giving thanks to God.
