"Christ, the first to rise from death, would proclaim light," Acts 26:23.
Who was first to rise from death? Christ. But he had to suffer death first. Had to? That's what it says. Had to. Yeah. And then Christ was the first to rise from death. Yeah. The first. To rise from death and stay rised from death. Everybody else that ever rised died again. Eutychus. The widow's son. The Sidonian mother's boy. Lazarus. All of them. Temporary reprieve. Died again. Jesus is the first to rise from death, death itself. And he proclaimed light. To whom? To the people. And to the ethnics. Light!
Today, when we meet a brother or sister on the way, we walk in the light Jesus announced. And, together, we walk out our thanksgivings to God for the shining light that overwhelmed darkness.
