Number

"They were told to rest a little longer until the number should be complete," Revelation 6:11.

Who was told to rest a while? Some people had lived out their lives for Jesus. And got slaughtered for it. These souls asked, How long until justice would be done? So the word back was, Just a little longer. But first, the rest of their fellow witnesses to Jesus had yet to be slaughtered. That's who was told to rest a little longer. And who did these souls call out to? God. The Sovereign Lord. The Holy One. The True One. How long until he (Sovereign, Lord, Holy, True) judged? Until he avenged their blood? Word back: When the Sovereign decides. And it's not time. But it's pretty close. Meanwhile, hang in there. Know this: God's keeping count.

We encourage each other today, brothers and sisters, to trust in the Sovereign of creation who will make all things right. And, together, we give thanks for Christ who paid the full price for our complete ransom.
