"Grace to you, and peace, from God our father," Colossians 1:2.
In olden times, when they saw each other, that's how they said: Hi, there! That was their greeting. That is, believers in Christ said things like that. That reminded them that Christ made them his brothers and sisters with one common father, God. That Christ made them holy. That way, they acknowledged that God gave each of them grace. A gift. Unimaginable generosity. And that God gave them peace. Yeah. Peace within the heart. Peace among each other. Peace with him. God gave them peace with God. That God did.
So, today, when we see a brother or sister, we say: Grace to you! And, together, we give joyful thanks to God for giving it to us.
