(Religion? James just doesn't let go of talking about God.) OK. So many religions. Too many religions out there to shake a stick at. So. What's the right religion? First thing to ask is, is it just self-justifying talk and smokescreen? Alternatively, is it quietly true? Second. Do fatherless or motherless kids get taken care of? Third. Do abandoned widows get help? Fourth. Does holy behavior get affirmed? Questions to ask. Yeah. God. God's religion: a curbed mouth. no lies. no kids abandoned. no needy widows. moral integrity. Otherwise: worthless religion. no matter what the rehearsed creed says.
In our visit with a brother or sister today we share time and resources to relieve burdens. And, together, we give thanks that God's religion is real.
