Measure

"We know that we have passed out of death into life," 1 John 3:14.

Yes. We know. We know this. And how do we know this? Maybe it's because we've done special feats for God? Maybe it's because we've prayed a lot and even fasted? Maybe it's because we read a bunch of verses? Well, maybe. Maybe so. But here, the Good Book says this is how we know: We love the brothers and sisters. That's how. But by what measure do we know love? By this: Jesus laid down his life for us. So, we lay down our lives for each other. Yeah. We don't love by speaking deep thoughts, but for real - somebody's in need so we share. Pretty straightforward. Sky kingdom.

We find each other, a brother or sister, in real time as we rise from death to life. Like Jesus, even betrayed by friends, went to the cross anyway. And, together, we live out thanksgiving to God by sharing our lives one with the other.
