"We heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints," Colossians 1:4.
So thanksgiving go to God. For saintly people. Saints: people that have shiny halos around their heads, right? Nope. Saints: people that performed miracles after they died, right? Nope. Saints: people that show unreal, extraterrestrial kindness, right? Nope. Not that, either. When the Bible talks about saints, it talks about regular people who've come to believe in Jesus for their forgiveness. Regular people, and now transformed. That's the shine, the miracle, the uncommon kindness. And so thanksgivings go to the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. These saints (every believer) have a hope of resurrection laid up for us by Christ's sacrifice. These people, qualified worthy for and delivered by God into his kingdom, learn to extend his way of peace and kindness toward others.
As we give thanks to God for a brother or sister today, we grow in love for each other. And, together, we praise God who, miraculously, renders us all his saints.
