Breakfast

"Come to breakfast!" John 21:12.

So, what do you do the third time you show yourself alive after having died? Do you walk through walls? Do you rise up into the sky? Do you give inspirational talks about spirituality? Well, if you're Jesus, you invite your exhausted, hard working, frustrated friends to breakfast. And, oddly enough, you don't just wave your hand over the rocks and turn them into bread; you actually get a fire going on the beach and cook the food. And when it's done, and they're there, you, personally, serve them grilled fish and toast. That's how the Risen Christ does it.

When we meet with a brother or sister today, perhaps at a meal, we confess the Lord provides all we need for life (eternal), liberty (from the Law's curse), and the pursuit of happiness (in a world without end). And, thankful, we, together the living body of Christ, invite everybody around to breakfast. He lives!
