Nike

"The one who wins will not be hurt by the second death," Revelation 2:11.

Nike means: Conquer, win. So. How to win? By listening to the one who died and came back to life. The Risen Christ knows winning. He knows intimately the distress of his people. He understands deeply his people's poverty. (But he says: Ah! But you're rich!). He's well acquainted with the slander his people undergo. He knows the devil's testing with severe troubles. But what says Jesus? Be faithful to death. He says: I will give you the crown of life. Wait! Did we hear that? I. will. give. you. the. crown. of. life. The second death has no power to hurt. Second death - what's that? Hell. How to win? Cross the finish line.

Today we encourage each other, a brother or a sister, to hang in there with Jesus to the end. No matter how tough it gets. It's just for a little while. And, together, we give thanks that he runs/walks/stands right there beside us all the way to the end. And beyond.
