"I died, but look!, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades," Revelation 1:18.
Who died? Somebody like a son of man. Speak English! Who died? a man. What man? Christ Jesus. So, is he still dead? Nope. Not at all. That was past tense. Present tense is, he is alive. Future tense, he will be alive forevermore. So what's with the keys? Jesus opens the doors to where all dead people are. Billions and billions. Yeah. He unlocks the locks that keep the dead, dead. He was dead there, too, remember? But he's not there any more. He's unlocked the exit mystery. So don't look down for him down there. Look up! He's alive. He's unlocked the lock to life. And he's calling your name.
With a brother or sister today, we hear the voice of Jesus sing, Come unto me and live! We encourage each other with his life. And, together, we echo back the chorus of thanksgiving to him who loved us to death. To life.
