"I was stupid and ignorant, like a beast toward you; but I am always with you: you have held my right hand," Psalm 73:22-23.
Especially when I'm upset and mad about life's troubles, sometimes, dear God, it seems worthless to keep your Word - life can still be very hard. It even seems, sometimes, that uncaring people do just fine without a thought toward you. But then. But then I come into your presence and I see my thoughts are just phantom dreams in the night. They're just inhuman notions. Who else do I have in the sky but you? Dear God: there's nothing I want on earth more than your presence. My strength may fail. My courage may fly. But you, you alone, O God!, are the strength of my heart and my portion. Forever!
With a brother or sister today, we point each other away from the world's vagaries toward our God. And, together, we grasp more securely his steady, strong hand.
