Partners

"Holy brothers, partners in a heavenly calling," Hebrews 3:1.

Whoa! Who's he talking to? Talking to people sanctified by Jesus who had become just like one of them. People for whom Jesus had atoned for their sins. People now brothers and sisters with Christ, their brother. Now partners. Now sharers. Now participants. Yes. Fellowshippers in what? In the invitation from the skies. In God's call. The call to an unearthly life. A holy life. And what's he saying to us? This: You! You must think deep about Jesus.

And so as we meet with a brother or sister today, we contemplate Christ. And together we give thanks to God for receiving him as the apostle and high priest of our confession.
