Bad

"It will be more bearable on Judgment Day for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town," Matthew 10:15.

Well, now. What could possibly be a worse fate than Sodom's? Everybody knows they were the gold standard for how bad a society can get. Can't get worse than that. Nossiree, bob. But wait! What's this? Here's something way worse than their moral depravity. Are you serious? What can people possibly do to make Sodom's fate look preferable? (You know, like, as in: Well, I may have done wrong, but at least I'm not as bad as ...) Hmm. As bad as ... who? As bad as people rejecting God's Good News of peace. (Says who? Jesus. Says Jesus.)

When we meet up with a brother or sister today, we receive and listen to the Message. And, together, we give thanks to God who offers forgiveness to any and all in the gospel of Jesus.
