Again

"Wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in her memory," Mark 14:9.

Jesus died for our sins and for the sins of the whole world. God raised him up from the realm of the dead to his own right hand. A few evenings earlier than his execution, Mary wasted a fortune in perfume to anoint a very live Jesus. Though she didn't know it at the time, she prepared his body for burial. And here we are, two continents and two millennia away from that place and moment, executing Jesus' prophecy. Once again.

As we visit with a brother or sister today, we discover that their grand gestures or small kindnesses extend Jesus' grace. And so, together, we speak thanks to God who gets our every detail and nuance, and blesses.
