Temple

"He offered himself through the eternal Spirit as a perfect sacrifice to God," Hebrews 9:14.

Who did? Jesus did. What did he do? He offered his very self, perfected, as a sacrifice for sin. (Where? In the real sky temple. Not in the earthly copy, the Jerusalem model.) Jesus, our high priest, entered the Most Holy places with his own blood, not with blood of animal sacrifices. (Remember, the Jerusalem temple held all sorts of daily, animal sacrifice, a bloody slaughter.) And what did Jesus accomplish by this perfect sacrifice? Through the Spirit, he secured an eternal redemption. He mediates a new covenant. Our eternal high priest. At the very throne of God. Right now, on our behalf. No more Jerusalem temples, shadows. Us: redeemed, forgiven! Sky kingdom!

With a brother or sister today, we joy in the work of Christ! We revel in the redemption Jesus paid for us. And, together, we give thanks to dwell with Christ in God's Most Holy place. His congregation.
