Keeping

"May the God of peace himself keep you," 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

You? You who? You, who are always happy. You, who pray all the time. You, who give thanks no matter what. You, who attend to what God wants in Christ Jesus. You, who do not quash the Spirit. You, who do not ignore prophecies. You, who test everything. You, who keep what is good. You, who stay away from every bad thing. Yes! May God keep you. Keep? Keep for what? For wholeness. For your spirit, soul, and body, for all your being integrated into holiness. To what end? Until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, yeah! And God will do it.

We wait today with a brother or sister as we yield our whole selves into God's keeping. And, together, we give thanks for Jesus who will appear. Coming soon!
