Reaping

"Then the good people will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father," Matthew 13:43.

And who are these good people? The people planted by the Son of Man. Who's he? Jesus. And how do they get planted by Jesus? By hearing what Jesus has to say. Listening to his Word. Obeying it. Coming to him. Receiving his rest. Taking his easy yoke. Learning from him. Following his gentleness, his humility. Lifting his light burden. These will shine. But not yet. God's kingdom in this world, with the world's troubles, does not yet present the way it will. But comes the last reaping of the present order, and then. It's gonna shine! They're gonna shine! Sky kingdom.

Calling on a brother or sister today, we hear Jesus' call to persevere to the end. And, together, we give thanks to God for the sure hope of glory Jesus secured for us.
