Allotment

"When I am afraid, you Lord, know the way out," Psalm 142:3.

I call out to you, Jehovah God, and talk to you. I tell you my troubles and, yes, my complaint sits in your ears. It seems that snares surround me. Truth: really, nobody can know or care like you do. There's no other way out. But you are my allotment, my refuge on this very earth. Listen to my calls from deep within. I need your deliverance from all the trials that overwhelm. Free me to give thanks to you! I know your grace will do it!

With a brother or sister today we remind each other of God's consistent mercies in this world's distresses. And, together, we give confident thanks to our Father for his bounty in Jesus.
