Received

"We know he has chosen you," 1 Thessalonians 1:4.

God has chosen whom? You. You, who? The congregation. The assembly. What assembly? The church in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ. That's who. You. Beloved by God. And how do we know? How do we know that God has chosen this congregation? because the gospel. because the good news. What gospel? What good news? The good news witnesses Jesus sent out told about. (It's about Jesus, right?). The gospel that came in word. It came in power. It came in the Holy Spirit. It came in full conviction. And you received this word. That's how we know. We know he has chosen you.

When we meet a brother or sister today, we share the Spirit's joy with each other. And, in joyful thanksgiving, we bless God through our Lord Jesus for his election.
