Deep

"He fell on his face at Jesus' feet giving him thanks," Luke 17:16.

Who did? Some foreigner. An unknown. And what did he do? Not much, really. He just said, Thank You!, to Jesus because Jesus had healed him of a dread disease. (In fact, had the rest of the healed people thanked Jesus, there would have been no particular point to draw attention to this guy.) But Jesus noticed this nobody and made him somebody for the rest of us. That's really what obeying Jesus is all about: Not much, really, just doing our duty, so to speak. Just saying Thank You, meaning it, and living it out. Sky kingdom.

As we share our lives today with a brother or sister, we feel Jesus' deep healing from sin's dread power. And, together, we fall on our faces at his feet with deep joy and thanksgiving.
